Camp Descriptions

Rockshop Camp

Ages: 8+

Experience: Beginner - Advanced

Ever wanted to learn what it takes to be in a real rock band? Well now is your chance! Whether you're new to music or your instrument, the Rockshop camp is the place for you to try new instruments, improve your performance skills, and have fun jamming out to music with other students this summer.

Students will be broken into bands for the week with students of their own age and skill level. They will learn the basics of playing in a band, how to care for equipment with games and demonstrations, and learn 1-2 songs that they will perform at the end of the camp.

Camps are $180 per session

Camp sessions run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10AM - 1PM

Songwriting Description

Songwriting & Recording Camp

Ages: 9+

Experience: Some musical experience required

Walk in with a song idea and walk out of this camp with a professionally recorded and produced song that is ready for iTunes or Spotify! Learn the basics of songwriting, lyric crafting, orchestration, and then finally get a chance to experience the recording process firsthand!

This camp is open to musicians of all instruments and musical backgrounds. Students come in and have a chance to work individually and one-on-one with our team of songwriting mentors to help them craft and record their very own song. Students will work on the creation of their songs on days 1 and 2, alternating between group discussions about songwriting and individual time to work and create. Then on day 3 of the camp, students will record their song from start to finish!

RMC partners with Inspiration Audio, our nonprofit affiliate, for the recording, mixing & mastering, and production of each student's song. IA musicians will record additional parts requested by the students and IA engineers will help bring all of their ideas to life! Approximately 1 week after the camp is over, students will receive the finished version of their song, which they can then upload onto any major (or minor) distribution platform.

Ukulele Camp

Ages: 8+

Experience: Beginners-Intermediate

Nothing goes together better with summer than the ukulele! Imagine yourself strumming along to your favorite songs on the beach all summer long! Uke-can do it after this camp! Come learn the basics of this small but mighty instrument so that you can strum the day away to all of your favorite songs.

Students in this camp will learn the basics of playing ukulele and how to play some of the favorite songs alone and with others! The group gets to select the majority of the songs worked on during the camp. At the duration of the camp, the students can opt for a group performance for the parents, or a private recording session with our nonprofit affiliate, Inspiration Audio.

Drumline Camp

Ages: 8+

Experience: Beginner - Intermediate

Learn to march to the beat of your own drum in our Drumline camp! This camp explores the basics of all the skills you need for marching in a drumline. Learn how to read music, stick technique, and how to play together as one.

Students will be broken into drumline groups based on their age and experience. The groups will learn the basics of drumline technique, reading drumline music notation, and how to play together as one. At the end of the camp, the campers and instructor will hold a demonstration with all groups showing the final piece they were able to put together.

A Cappella Bootcamp

Ages: 8+

Experience: Beginner - Intermediate

Do you love singing or making odd sounds with your voice? Then this camp is for you! In this camp, campers will take a deep dive into the history of a cappella singing and learn a cappella singing techniques like how to turn yourself into a human drum machine. The group will then select a song, learn all of the parts, and perform it for the camp finale!

RMC's nonprofit affiliate, Inspiration Audio, will be partnering with us for this camp and will be available for a private recording session for this group as well if they wish!

Rockin' Movie Camps

Both rounds are open to anyone ages 9+
(Round 2 is PG-13)
Round 1 - Disney (Encanto, Frozen II, Descendants)
Round 2 - Music Comedy (School of Rock, The Rocker, Wayne's World)

Enjoy movies and music? Want to learn more about the music that made some of your favorite movies? Come out to RMC’s Rockin’ Movie camps where you’ll explore movies, the music behind the scenes, and will even get a chance to try some of the music yourself!

During this camp, we will explore the 3 movies listed above. Students are encouraged to wear comfy clothes and bring snacks! While the movie is playing, we'll discuss the music of the movie, going through interesting facts and themes noted in the music. Vocal Workshop

Ages: 8+

Experience: Beginner - Advanced

Does your singer love performing, but doesn't always know how to hold the microphone, struggles with what to do with their hands when singing, and gets really nervous before each performance? Or has your singer not yet felt they have the confidence to perform yet?

 During the workshop, students will:

  • Review performance techniques - like what to do with your hands when singing!

  • Give tips and practices for overcoming performance anxiety

  • Demystify the microphone and learn how to make it work for your voice

  • Give one-on-one instruction on the best tools for modifying songs to best suit your voice

  • Lead peer-directed feedback in a masterclass setting to practice performing in front of others, and to also pick up other useful tools for your singing
